The world has been hearing a lot about Apple’s efforts to create a unified music and video ecosystem for the iPhone and iPad, but the company is not investing in the same space with its new investment in Rmit Music Production, according a Bloomberg report.
In its announcement to investors, Rmit said that the new investment will create a new music business that focuses on music and music video.
The company, which also has a VR division, is looking to make the digital world a more productive place for musicians, the report said.
Apple is making a huge push into VR and augmented reality with the Apple Music streaming service.
But the company has struggled to gain traction in these markets, especially in the U.S. where its music and movie sales have historically been smaller than those of the likes of Spotify and Amazon.
The company is already working with VR content creators to create new music for its Apple TV streaming service, but Rmit is aiming to bring its content to more platforms and devices.
Apple has previously announced it is planning to launch virtual reality products at its event this week, but it is unclear if this will be a virtual reality product or a more traditional video-centric product.
