New York-based indie rock band Wrecking Balls have released their second studio album, ‘Waving’ which was released on May 14th.
“Waving” marks the band’s third full-length studio album since their 2014 debut ‘The Dreamer’ and was recorded at their studios in San Francisco and New York City, respectively.
The band have also been featured on The Late Late Show With James Corden, The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon, The Late Show with Seth Meyers, and Late Night With Seth Meyer.
“It’s been a real whirlwind of the last few months,” frontman Brian Bogan said in a statement.
We’ve had to work very hard to get to this point, and it’s made it all the better. “
But it’s been all worth it, man, because the album’s been amazing.
We’ve had to work very hard to get to this point, and it’s made it all the better.
We’re super stoked to be able to share it with you.”
Wrecker’s previous albums ‘The Future Is Now’ and ‘Weird Things’ were both released in 2014.
“I think Wrecker are a lot more of an acoustic band than they were in the past, but they’ve got a very vocal approach to their music,” singer/guitarist Brian Bovick said in an interview with Pitchfork.
“They’re really into the idea of the idea that you can write a song, and that you write a melody and it becomes the same song.”
“Wreckers” is the bands first album to be recorded with producer Brian Fallon.
“He’s the guy that brought me onto Wreckers, and I’ve been very fortunate that he’s been able at some point in my life to bring me into this band and bring me on board,” Fallon told Pitchfork in 2016.
“I think he’s really good at bringing things together and getting them to play, because he can really create a mood and make a song,” Bovicker continued.
“So when I heard him, I just knew that this was the direction I wanted to go.
I mean, he’s a very talented guy, and he can bring these ideas together, and if he has enough confidence in his work, it’s a really easy process to go from there.”
The band also revealed that their latest album ‘Waviness’ is the second studio effort to be released in 2016, and is the first to feature Bovicks vocalist and bassist, Mark DeMott.
“The last time we recorded something was a really good one,” DeMot told Rolling Stone in an article published in 2017.
“And I feel like ‘WAViness’ feels like a step in the right direction.
And it’s not necessarily the last time I’ll be playing guitar with a band.”
Wailing’s third studio album will be available on May 24th via Amazon.
The album is the follow-up to 2016’s “The Future is Now,” which was also the band´s first full-fledged studio album.
Wailing’s new album will also feature the band as the first artists to be featured on Fallon´s The Tonight With Seth Metz Show.
“In the wake of ‘The Nightmare’ being on Seth’s show, and being in the same building as him, it was a real opportunity to play with this band,” Fallon said of the new album.
“Mark and I have been working with him, and really, it just feels like it was all the right time to work with him.
It’s great for me to see him doing something that he really enjoys and is a fan of.
He’s really talented.”
Washing will be the first album of the band to be pressed on 180 gram vinyl and comes with a special limited edition vinyl pressing that includes a copy of the album in the first week of May, along with an autographed copy of their debut album.
The vinyl is limited to 300 copies.
