“I was living in my parents’ basement and there was an old cassette of The Mighty Mouse Podcast,” Andrew, the podcast’s narrator, told the ABC.
“It was just one of those little bits of content that I would listen to when I was bored.
It was always about one or two stories.”
As I got older I was interested in audio, and so I decided to create a podcast.
“Andrew started writing his podcast when he was in high school.”
One day I got a phone call from my dad, saying, ‘You’ve got to talk to a guy who knows how to write and record audio’,” Andrew said.”
He was working in a factory and he told me to go look at audio equipment and start a podcast and he was right.
“Andrew said the podcast went viral and has been downloaded more than 1 million times.”
When I first started doing it, I was really surprised at how many people were interested in it,” he said.”[It’s] not like I was making a bunch of money out of it, it’s just just a hobby.
“Andrew is currently writing a new episode of the podcast.”
This week we’ve had two episodes and we’ve been really busy,” he told the BBC.”
We’ve had about 30,000 downloads so far, so it’s definitely going well.
